Goodwins Analysis - "Its Already Over"

1) Genre Conventions: The genre is indie-rock, and typical of indie-rock video it follows a dire situation with the lead singer shown as part of the story lip syncing.

2) Link between visuals and lyrics: The music contains depressing/slightly cynical lyrics, and this is mirrored in the onscreen visual of the superhero getting into a "drunken mess"

3) Relationship between music and video: Occasional lip sync and the guitar solo is shown being played in the video. There is aso relevant transitions to the pace of the music.

4) Demands of Record label: There is a lack close ups of the artist in the video. Though there is constant visual of the superhero, which may be a motif to promote the single.

5) Watching/ voyeurism: watching the led singer on stage as well as this watching the superhero get drunk from and outsiders perspective.

6) Inter textual reference: Perhaps inter textual reference to kick-ass which is a failure superhero film.
